Meet César

   New Leadership for District 2

Personal

Born and Raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico; César grew up with his sister Marién and his parents Julio César Díaz and Myriam Ramos. César's father has had a lifetime career as an artist and typographer. His Mother was a teacher during his childhood, she taught art and photography. Myriam and Julio César both continue to create art and sell in galleries in Puerto Rico, and have even been showcased here in Frederick.

César moved to Frederick as a young adult in the 90's, where he raised his two boys. The oldest, Ricardo, still lives here in Frederick and found his passion in Real Estate. The youngest, Hunter, lives in NYC where he completed his degree in acting and continues following his acting dreams with his sketch group, volunteering at a non-profit bookstore, and is beginning  a new Bachelor's program  "activism through performing arts"

César currently lives with his partner, Nicole Ramey, where they raise 15 year old Andrew, who attends FHS. They are members of the Unitarian Universalists Congregation of Frederick, where César had taken lead of the "Immigration Support Team" which is part of the "Democracy Action Team".

César also volunteers at Centro Hispano where he teaches beginner level computer classes to Spanish speaking residents. He also regularly attends meetings with the RISE advocacy group.

Career

After moving to Frederick, César spent sometime as a uniformed Park Ranger with the Maryland Park Service before he found his passion in computers. He has spent 20 years in information security and is an expert in Cyber security, cloud computing and various other areas of information technology.

Politics

As the City Council moves to district level elections, it is imperative that District 2 is represented by a strong progressive leader who will always keep the interests of the community in mind.  The residents in District 2 do not always feel like they have received an equitable level of attention from city government.

As the council works to change that in both action and perception, I am determined to ensure voices from our community will be heard and taken to the table when decisions matter.

       Federal Issues Meet Local Communities

Frederick, like the rest of the country, is already grappling with the effects of unprecedented loss of federal jobs, policy changes and funding cuts used to extort the local and state governments.

While our City, and County, Leadership take these federal spending cuts into consideration while planning for the future of our residents, I will ensure the needs of District 2 are heard and met. This means working with the entirety of our Frederick City Council to make sure that Frederick makes it through this chaotic time.
